Biblical dream interpretation- hokey or not?

Genesis 40:8 And they replied, “We both had dreams last night, but no one can tell us what they mean.”
“Interpreting dreams is God’s business,” Joseph replied. “Go ahead and tell me your dreams.”

There have been a few people who are misguided into thinking that dream interpretation is of the occult arts. It is not. Dreams are how God chooses to communicate to us and reveal things to us. It is up to each of us what we are to do with what God shows us in our dreams. Most of us choose to simply enjoy the vivid imagery as a good sleeping show, but there is some of us who feel our dreams mean much more. I am one of them. It is my responsibility to investigate my dreams thoroughly and search for the meaning God intended to show me and then it is up to me whether or not I use that advice.

Look at the many examples scattered throughout the Bible. Noah and his ark. The Magi and fleeing via a different route. Joseph taking Mary and her baby Jesus to Egypt. Abraham and his son Isaac. They’re all throughout the Bible. So why shouldn’t you and I heed the advice given to us in our dreams, no matter how nonsensical it seems? Although I admit it’s somewhat of a challenge to try to figure out what God’s telling me when I dream of flip-flops flying off trees and divebombing me as I run naked into a tarpit and getting stuck there but finding a bottle of wine there and drinking the whole thing then going to sleep forever. Any takers?
